Alien Vs Predator, the movie: Alien vs. Predator was released in 2004.The movie is based on the comic book AVP, developed and released by Dark Horse comic books. The storyline is very interesting and portrays how since the beginning of time, the Predators, the feared, bulky alien game hunters, have come to Earth for one simple reason, to engage in a hunt. To train as hunters, the teenage Predators have to hunt down Alien warriors enslaved in an Aztec pyramid and successfully defeat them, to claim their skulls as trophies. However, during one such hunting session, the Aliens fight back, leading to the destruction of the two species and the Aztec people, who worshipped the Predators as Gods.
Nearly two thousand years later, billionaire industrialist Charles Bishop Weyland, rediscovers the Aztec pyramid frozen within the icebergs of Antarctica. The sheer excitement of his discovery convinces Weyland to send a team of specialists, led by Lex Woods, for an expedition to the Antarctic. However, once they enter the pyramid, the enslaved Queen Alien awakens from her hibernation and produces new eggs and Face Hugger parasites. In addition, to make matters worse, the new hunting clan of teenage Predators, led by the brash and violent Celtic Predator War chief arrives, ready to hunt down both, the Aliens and the humans within the temple.
Alien vs. Predator is a science fiction, action-thriller, with some noteworthy highlights. The producers combined two popular R-rated franchises, the Alien of 1979 and Predator of 1987. The Predator movie was a hit with the Spanish, where they called it the ‘depredador’.
