Denny’s Restaurant- a reliable name in quality dining services: Harold Butler founded Denny’s Restaurant under the name of Danny’s Donuts in 1953, in Lakewood, California. It thrived well and by 1959, he had expanded it into a chain of 20 restaurants and renamed it Denny’s. The business grew and by 1981 there were over 1000 restaurants in 50 U.S states.
