Loews Theater: Marcus Loew, an American business magnate, established the Loews Theater in 1904. This was one of the oldest chains of theaters that operated in North America until it was merged with the famous AMC Theaters in 2006.

Marcus Loew established both the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Loews Theaters. Being born in New York to a poor Jewish family, his circumstances forced him to work at a very young age, and therefore he had very little formal education. Nonetheless, starting off with a small investment from the money saved from menial jobs, he purchased the penny arcade business. Soon, Loew acquired a Nickelodeon, and with time he transformed the Loews Theaters into the largest chain of movie theaters in the United States.

It was well known for being the parent company and distribution arm for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), the Hollywood giant. They separated in 1954 with a ruling made by the US Supreme Court in 1948. After many years the Loews Theaters merged with the Cineplex Odeon Corporation to form the Loews Cineplex Entertainment. As a combined company it turned out to be one of the largest movie exhibitors in the world. Loews Cineplex Entertainment has theaters in Spain, Korea, Mexico, Canada and the United States.

Oaktree Capital Management and Onex Corporation took over Loews Cineplex in 2002. By 2004 they had sold it to a private group of investors, excluding the Canadian assets. AMC Theaters announced in 2005 that they would merge with Loews Cineplex Entertainment, and that the merger would thereafter carry the AMC name. The new company would continue to keep Loews as a brand. Loews had about 198 theaters with approximately 2,235 screens, at the time of the merger.

Loews Cineplex Theater at the Waterfront, Homestead (Pittsburgh): It is said that the 22-screen Loews Cineplex, which was established at the Waterfront a couple of years ago, was so successful that it facilitated the redefining of the Cineplex market in the region. Before the Loews Theater was opened, an average Pittsburgh moviegoer went for a movie about twice a year. The attendance now has changed close to that of the national average.

The Waterfront is an open-air shopping center which spans the three Pennsylvanian boroughs of Munhall, West Homestead, and Homestead near Pittsburgh. It’s shopping center was established on the site of the U.S. Steel's Homestead Works plant. The Waterfront, established in late 1999, offers a variety of movie theaters comedy clubs, and shops,.

Loews Paradise Theater: The Loews Paradise Theater is said to the most grandiose and spectacular theater ever in the history of United States. Located in the middle of Bronx’s busiest commercial district, it showcases concerts by internationally renowned artists. This includes artists from the world of pop, Latin, urban music, etc. The theater also plays host to special events like the children’s variety show, comedy shows and boxing. It has a capacity of 4,000 people in its main ballroom. Besides this, there are grand interior places set aside for the sports bar, private functions, and dining.
