Billboard music list: The pulse of the U.S music industry is most prominent through the Billboard Hot 100 music list. The Billboard 100 list is the music industry’s singles popularity chart that is issued on a weekly basis by the Billboard magazine. The Billboard Hot 100 lists the country’s 100 most popular and successful songs, on the basis of airplay and sales. However, the song has to be a single.
The chart rankings begin on Monday and end on Sunday. The airplay tracking time is usually calculated from Wednesday to Tuesday and by the end of Thursday, a new chart is released. All the charts officially released are dated, with the week ending date specified to be the following Saturday. Currently, the Billboard Hot 100 list tracks the popularity of the songs from the Internet services that offer paid digital music download, such as iTunes, Napster, MusicMatch and Rhapsody.
