The newspaper industry in Pakistan is very vibrant and growing. Pakistan Newspapers are published from different provinces in different languages. Some of them have online editions too. Daily newspapers like The Dawn, and Jang, publish their international editions for specific markets. They have their established networks to gather news from all over the world. Pakistani newspapers have always operated under the pressures of Government and Military agencies. For several years, Pakistani governments restricted the freedom of journalists, with strict censorship laws. However, of late, things have begun to change and journalists have become a lot more open in their reporting. Forums like The Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF), founded in 1967, are working hard in this direction.

Since 1992, the PPF is involved in assisting the development of independent media in Pakistan. It conducts training programs for journalists, guides media news agencies and handles projects in research. It also campaigns to promote freedom of the press in Pakistan. To a certain extent, journalists are still not happy with the government interference and control over the media. The digital revolution has resulted in the modernization of Pakistani newspapers and media. Newspapers like the Dawn use the latest techniques for newsgathering, media guides, and production. Today, newspaper business in Pakistan is learning to cope with the daily challenges in order to emerge as the real voice of the nation.
